Invited by the
University
of
Winnipeg,
University
of
Manitoba
and the Canadian Ethnic Studies Association as
organizers of the 19th biennial
international conference on Ethnicity, Public
Policy and Minority Inclusion, F. Tony Bislimi
traveled to Canada on 26 September to serve as
an international panellist for the Good
Governance and Minority Inclusion plenary
session of the conference.
Besides serving as
an international panellist, Bislimi led a
delegation of Kosovar presenters (from the TBG
Foundation) at the conference, who presented a
paper on religion in Kosova.
During his
participation in CESA’s conference, Bislimi had
the opportunity to meet with several other
participants, lecturers, and panellists with
whom he discussed his Education for Peace
Scholarships Program and the possibility of its
enlargement to include Canadian universities.
Bislimi hopes to
continue talks with several universities in
Canada
in an effort to get them to join
Texas
Lutheran
University
in providing scholarships for deserving Kosovars
through the EFP Scholarships Program.
On this trip, Tony
Bislimi was accompanied by Ms Nora Dauti,
Vice-President, Ms Dafina Bislimi, Scholarships
Program Coordinator, and Mr Arden Abazi, Program
Officer for Education, of the TBG Foundation.
